On Friday the Avalanche made official the contracts of 7 players all who will likely start the 2011-2012 campaign in Lake Erie.

Two new players joining the Monsters are Evan Brophey, a center who has struggled to make it up to the NHL in the Blackhawks full depth chart, and goalie Cedrick Desjardins, who spent last season in the Lightning organization making two starts in the NHL winning both.

Returning to Lake Erie this season are Greg Mauldin, Ryan Stoa, Justin Mercier, David Liffiton, and David Van der Gulik. All five guys have donned the burgundy and blue at some point in the last two years.
