Why he fits on the Avalanche: In my opinion two things need to happen on draft night for the Avalanche to selected Armia with the 11th overall pick. First their first selection, pick number 2, would have to be Adam Larsson and secondly Mika Zibanejad would have to be off the board when the Avalanche are waiting to select 11. If these two things happen I believe the Avalanche will select Joel Armia. Although his defensive play is probably his least polished skill he does bring some size which the Avalanche need along with some of the top scoring winger potential in the draft.

Why he doesn’t fit on the Avalanche: This is once again a case of circumstance if the Avalanche answer their need for a wing with the 2nd pick it will not be needed with the 11th resulting in Armia not being a fit. Although I’d rather a LW the LWs with size fall off considerably after Landeskog and Huberdeau. If the Avalanche pass up on Armia there is a decent chance he falls beyond pick 19.

Where he ends up: 11/20-23
