Why he fits on the Avalanche: Siemens is a physical defender who brings size and grit to whatever roster he finds himself on. The Avalanche have struggled on the physical side on the ice and it was so magnified David Koci was a breathe of fresh air when he played some D at the end of the season. Siemens probably wont be a franchise defender like Larsson may be but he shapes up to be a solid 3-4 and possesses enough offensive potential that he could wind up on a teams PP, especially if it’s a PP as bad as the Avs. Siemens has been compared to current Canuck Kevin Bieska, who just happens to be a FA I’m hoping the Avalanche take a look at. With the Avalanche having so many offensive left-handed defensemen Duncan Siemens would bring a nice change-up. If the Avalanche take Huberseau or Landeskog at number two I will be pulling hard for Siemens to fall into the Av’s hands at number 11.

Why he doesn’t fit on the Avalanche: Basically where tha Avalanche stand is if they take Huberdeau or Landeskog at 2 and Siemens is there at 11 they have to take him but if they take Larsson at number 2 they take a forward with the 11. The Avalanche need one wing and one defenseman so only way Siemens wouldn’t fit is if the Avalanche take a d-man before they have the opportunity to take him.

Where he ends up: 9-12
