Why he fits on the Avalanche: Ryan Strome is a play making extraordinaire. His hockey sense is unquestionable and he just seems to have a knack for getting on the score sheet day in and day out. Strome finished 3rd in scoring in the 2010-2011 OHL season and his stock just seemed to continue to rise with his consistent play. Strome’s strengths are his vision, hand, and intelligence, which are intangibles that many prospects often seem to lack at a young age. Strome has been compared to Logan Couture who became popular during the 2011 NHL playoffs where he found himself in the spotlight with many timely plays.

Why he doesn’t fit on the Avalanche: Strome will definitely make a difference as soon as he touches the puck for whatever team he is drafted by it is just doubtful that teams winds up being the Avalanche. First off Strome’s abilities seem to keep him as center, a position where the Avalanche are not lacking. Secondly Strome seems to lack a defensive game and on an Avalanche team who is desperate for a power forward that won’t due. Finally it is unlikely Strome will be around for the Avalanche number eleven pick and it would to much of a reach for the Avalanche to select Strome at number two.

Where he ends up: 7-10
