Why he fits on the Avalanche: Nugent-Hopkins is from Burnaby much like a center you may have heard of whose name is Joe Sakic. Their home city is not the only reason these two have been compared in fact RNH has been compared to Joe on multiple occasions. Ryan possesses a plethora of skills and his strengths as noted by the ISS are vision, accuracy, and play making ability, which are three sort of important abilities. He has been known to make the players around him considerably better which is definitely something the Avalanche could use.

Why he doesn’t fit on the Avalanche: Holy moly another center. How I wish Nugent-Hopkins wasn’t a center! He, much like Matt Duchene 2 years ago, screams Colorado but the Avalanche are so backed up at center one would have to wonder even if the Oilers don’t draft him would the Avalanche select him with the number 2 pick. RNH’s weaknesses are popular among Avalanche players since he needs to add size and has to improve on his finishing. The positive is he is still young so these are weakness which can be fixed.

Where he ends up: 1st overall- Edmonton Oilers
