So far it seems as if the Wojtek Wolski for Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter trade has been Wolski for Porter since Mueller missed all of the 10-11 season. Porter is a difficult guy to judge he is a winner of the Hobey Baker award so his talent is there but he seems to lack the consistency to make a big difference in the NHL. Porter had a very impressive November and December including a +9 rating and 3 GWG but had very few wow moments in the 2011 portion of the season, along with the rest of the team. Porters natural position is center but he will have to make an impact on the wing to have any real future with the club. Question is to the Avalanche and Porter see eye to eye on where Porter currently is as a player.

Stay or Leave? Stay @ 2 yr 750K per year cap hit.

Porter is now 25 years old with one full season in the NHL under his cap these next two years will be essential to see whether Porter can be a difference maker at the bottom six or whether he is head for a career in the AHL. For now I believe the Avs will take a chance on Porter rather than have him be the next Brad Richardson and score against them every time they play against his new team.
