2010-2011 Stats: GP 35 G 7 Ast 8 Pts 15

After the 2009-2010 season T.J. Galiardi was admired for his pesky play. Although the Avalanche were unable to defeat San Jose in the first round of the playoffs Galiardi showed how much grit he had and the potential to be a real agitator in the NHL. So it was fair that Avalanche fans had such high hopes for Galiardi heading into the 2010-2011 campaign. Now to be fair very few Avalanche players impressed this season but I have got to think Galiardi was one of the low spots. Due to injury he only saw 35 games with the Avs and spent most of his time growing comfortable in what seemed to be a new line combination every night. He never seemed to be comfortable in any situation he was in and his play struggled. Things may have been different if he had stayed healthy but from the sample size we were given this was definitely a different Galiardi than the season before.

Stay or Leave? Stay @ 2 yr 1.2 million per year cap hit.

The Avalanche are famous for their two year deals and being that Galiardi is still only 23 years old I don’t see them giving up on him yet. Granted he may turn to be a trade piece if the Avs draft an NHL ready wing, Landeskog please, and Joey Hishon makes the pro club but I doubt they just let him go.
