March 25th Water Cooler Chatter: The Future Is Near

Happy 40th Birthday to Cammi Granato! (Photo: http://icehockey.wikia.com)

Well today the Avalanche made two signings official: Tyson Barrie and Calvin Pickard. With those two given contracts the Avalanche now have their top four prospects under contract and closer than ever to finally, one day, suiting up with the Avs. It shows just how close the future of this franchise is, they will add another major piece in three months at the NHL Entry Draft and there is probably a chance that player, like Duchene did, starts the year with Colorado. It may not seem like it but theseare exciting times in Colorado and if the team can stay healthy this team can compete as early as next season, given they have some sort of improvement at the goalie position.

Here are your links for Friday March 25th:

-Checking up on another potentially dangerous 7th seed, seems to be a yearly thing now, with Blue Line Station.

-The teams most likely to bring an upset to the first round of the NHL Playoffs /via Puck Daddy

-So much for an exciting rematch, TSN has the story on how Boston demolished the Habs.

-SBNation: NHL Scores And More

-One own goal- it happens. Two own goals- don’t see that to often. Two own goals by the same player- impossible, almost.

-According to The Denver Post Ryan Wilson and Mark Olver are day-to-day. Even when this team has nothing to play for they get bad injuries, and I honestly have no idea how they are able to suit up both a full NHL and AHL team.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!
