Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Hopefully you are enjoying yourself on this festive day of drinking and having an excuse to be an idiot, although this sounds oddly like the daily routine of my close friends. Today is a busy day in the sports world with a full day of hockey plus it is the true start of March Madness!

Here are your links for Thursday March 17th:

-If the NHL season ended today these would be the matchups. My guess is a lot of those series would see 6 or 7 games.

-Some teams only have 10 games remaining and the playoff push is in full force.

-With the Avalanche seemingly set to get a top 4 pick talks of who they may take are going viral. (Denver Post)

-Seems like Adam Foote will definitely retire after the season. To follow up this story Adrian Dater also did a write up on who the next captain may be, much like the article we post a few weeks ago but always good to read other opinions.

-Great news as TSN is reporting Max Pacioretty may be able to return for the playoffs!

-Too Many Men on the Site: A Day in the NHL: Thursday March 17

-Two previews from The College Hockey Blog: The first the WCHA Final Five, including two teams from Colorado, and Atlantic Hockey Championship, since I live in NY.

-Another look at the NHL Playoffs this time from SBNation.

-A vote for Pekka Rinne for Vezina winner? (Puck Daddy)

-22 NHL teams in action tonight.
