March 9th Water Cooler Chatter: The Day After

Today is the “day after” for three teams in the NHL. First the Avalanche who I explained in my recap played a pathetic and embarrassing 3rd period last night against the Minnesota Wild. It is also the “day after” for the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins who are the two teams affect by the devastating hit Zdeno Chara put on Max Pacioretty last night. Unless you haven’t turned on a computer today you have likely seen the hit but if not you may see it here.

Here are your links for Wednesday March 9th:

-First all of the different sites talking about the Chara/Pacioretty hit: A Winning Habit, Puck Daddy,, TSN, SBNation, Senshot, and The Sporting News.

-Also after review the NHL has decided Chara will NOT be suspended for the hit. I must say I personally disagree with this as Chara should know where he is on the ice and the hit was late anyway.

-Here is Senshot on how the Senators and, of course, Craig Anderson defeated the rolling NJ Devils.

-Want your team to tank and get that number 1 pick? Too Many Men on the Site tells us why that is wrong.

-Too Many Men on the Site’s A Day in the NHL segment for Tuesday’s action.

-Puck Daddy covers Bettman talking about the Coyotes fate in their usual humorous fashion.

-Time for some Calder talk with SBNation.

-This one from SBNation gives Atlanta fans hope that the Thrashers will stay put.

-The Avalanche farm report, this week, centers in on one of my favorite prospects Stefan Elliot.

-The ever so exciting This Week in Avalanche Hockey: March 9th edition, also known as “The season is over but you can use us for a good -laugh edition.”
