March 7th Water Cooler Chatter: We Can't Lose Today!

I really thought we were done with snow! (

Another day off is another day without a loss! Only 34 days left in the Avalanche season and despite the fact the season have fell apart over the last few weeks I’m already threading that final game. I love baseball but it is so long and the excitement just isn’t the same.

Here are your links for Monday March 7th:

Craig Anderson seems to be in the news more now than he was after making 51 saves against San Jose in the playoffs last year. Word on the street is he has been offered a 2 year $8 million contract (Avs were rumored to have offered him 2 years $7.5 million). (Edmonton Journal)

The Denver Post takes a look at how players view this season in comparison to the debacle of 08-09.

Another article from the Denver Post and another article regarding Craig Anderson, this time how he helps the Avs get the #1 pick.

From SBNation: How does the possibly NFL Lockout compare to the nightmare that was the NHL Lockout in 2004?

Although the Avs aren’t involved here’s a post from Predlines‘ own Amanda DiPaolo on Too Many Men on the Site about the insanity that is the Western Conference playoff hunt.

Too Many Men on the Site’s A Day in the NHL segment for Sunday’s action.

Congrats to Jerome Iginla who scored his 30th goal last night and has done so in 10 consecutive seasons. (TSN)

Here is Blue Line Station‘s recap on how the Rangers dismantled the flu-striken Flyers.

Only three NHL games on tap tonight but with Washington @ Tampa Bay and  Dallas @ Los Angeles on the schedule it should be fun.

If you find yourself with nothing to watch at 7:00pm ET tune in to ESPN2 to watch my Iona College Gaels take on St. Peter’s College Peacocks for the MAAC title!
