Losing Effort Best Game of the Season?

Last nights game was truly amazing in so many ways. Matt Duchene said it best when he said that was probably the best game played by the team since he arrived. 23 shots in one period versus the deadwings! Excellent! The Avs had the deadwings on the ropes the entire game with speed and hustle. The problem was it was Detroits Chris Osgood who put on a show standing on his head to propel the deadwings to an overtime victory. When a goalie’s hot and you still put in 3 goals on him the team should be proud.

However. last nights game only solidifies and proves my point that we need to stop playing around with the situation in goal and spend some of that cap money on a number one goaltender. Peter McNab mentioned that the Avs have yet to win a game when we score less than 3 goals. What? What does that say about our goal tending? Yes defense has been an issue at times but lets be real when defense falters the goalie is supposed to step up. As I’ve mentioned before I love Anderson and Budaj. I feel like the Avs have a great opportunity this season to go deep with our deadly offense. But that could turn into a short playoff run if they have to score three goals a game to win.

On a MILE HIGH NOTE props goes out to Matt Duchene for his two goals and scoring in the clutch to get us a point. The kid is begining to really show that he can dominate when he puts his mind to it. I look forward to watching him grow and turn into one of the best in the league!

Tough man award goes out to Captinkirk aka Shattenkirk. Taking one in the face for the team, way to go rookie!
