Knocking Down Flies & Dropping Like Em!

On a mile high note congratulations to Chris Stewart for recording his 100th career point. Scoring his 10th goal on the power play he keeps knocking em down giving him a total of five power play goals this season. Two more than he scored all of last. Unfortunately the tally wasn’t enough when the Avs gave up a late lead to the Flames that eventually cost them the game. The loss wasn’t only costly in the division race but also in man power when first line LW T.J. Galiardi broke his wrist and fourth line LW David Van Der Gulik tore an mcl ending his season. Bringing the total number of Avs on the injured list to 10, Coach Sacco is going to have to delve deeper into the farm team to dress enough skaters. Last night the Avalanche definitely out played the Flames, but the inexperience on defense and in general cost them the game. The challenge now will be to see how the Avs respond to playing with the youngest roster in the league that gets younger with every injury. Get well soon Galiardi and our prayers will be with you in a speedy recovery Van Der Gulik. Keep your head up fellas, Go Avs!
